I've decided to use these three images for my advert sequence as these images will suit well with my chosen brand.
I was inspired by Chanel's black and white adverts so I decided to use the stencil technique mainly. To create the stencil, I combined other techniques first. I collage and deconstructed the face onto the leopard's head. I then collage a scaled down image of the two girls onto the leopard's back which was supposed to represent a hill.
For the second advert I wanted to bring out a more edgy feel as Chanel portrays this in some adverts. I collaged the leopard skin print onto the lips and then I use the images of the girls and made them "suspend" in the air, something that is an unusual postition. I then wanted to insert the brand logo but i wanted to create a different texture. Also, i wanted to use repetition and created something than ordinary Chanel adverts as Chanel uses only 1 logo - something that is minimalistic. I created a stencil with the brand logo and used black paint, instead of spray paint.
For the last advert, I wanted a more elegant and high-fashion feel. i collaged different scales of the third image onto the dress of the girls. I used negative space on the girl on the left by blackening some areas on the dress to give her a more "dark" feel. Whereas the girl on the right, i cut out some parts to insert positive space. For the brand logo, I wanted to deconstruct it so i simply cut a slit and shifted half of it upwards. I also used the leopard skin as a new look/design for the brand logo.
Magazine of Choice
For the magazine of choice, I have chosen Vogue magazine as it caters to fashion enthusiasts and women in their 20s-30s who are somewhat more affluent and can afford more pricey pieces like items carried by Chanel.
Reflections: Corporate Identity, Image and Brands
For this week’s lecture I have chosen to look at the brand Audi because of its brand logo’s transformations.
Audi has improved its brand logo since the 1900s to present day. The 4 rings was introduced to symbolize the merger of 4 companies, Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer to form Auto Union. Last time Audi only had the name of the brand as the logo, typeface was more formal script but it modernized to become square sans serif. Current logo more sleek and elegant looking. Used silver and red for easy identification. The silver rings look “shiny”.

Another brand I would like to look at is Starbucks.

Brand logo used to include brand name and little details “coffee, tea, spices”, slowly evolved to include less and less brand information. As of 1987, green became the colour that people would identify starbucks with. As of 2011, the Starbucks name is removed from the brand logo as the brand was so widespread that most people could easily identify the icon.
People who are brands – The Kardashian/Jenner family. Anything that they put their name to will see consumers/fan wanting that product. Kardashians Inc netted 65 million from producing diet pills, fragrances, clothing line and makeup.
